Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) is a method of normalizing the welds after completion to ensure the grain structure is able to handle the severe environment, heat, of cyclic service. We encounter projects where we have to price both localized and oven heat treatment methods.
A mobile set up will come to our shop and PWHT on-site. This method is costly but ensures accelerated schedules and quicker completion.
PWHT Oven
Sending spools to a PWHT company where they will use their ovens. This method is more cost effective and allows multiple pieces to be completed at the same time.
